  • Bushburg University? - Well, not exactly. but we are working on creating a series of trainings that will be given to Bushburg Employees to help them navigate the commonly used software. In preparation of that, we have made a short survey to gather information of what features are needed the most.

    • Please click on link for Survey, everyone's participation is greatly appreciated.

    • Interested in knowing what your learning style is? Here is a short quiz to find out. Learning Styles can be Visual, Auditory, and Tactile.

  • Laura's Bushburg Anniversary - February 14th, 2005, was Laura's first day at Bushburg.

    • Our office was located in what is currently apt 101 at 385 Troutman Street, and the office consisted of a Property Manager, and 4 in-house Brokers, one of them was David Lifshitz, who some of you know.

    • We did rentals and Condo Sales. Advertising was done through Craigslist and we managed only 3 buildings: 385 Troutman Street, 538 Johnson (2nd Floor only) and 175 Stockholm Street (The Tea Factory)

    • Tenant Transactions were managed through a software called Leashold which did not have a search feature. Making it necessary to memorize every name of every tenant just in case we received a check with no apartment number on it.

    • Tenants would come to pay rent in person, sometimes barefoot and in pajamas.

    • We did not have a ticket system, tenants would simply call the office and we would take notes.

    • All bills were paid manually, and all of them came in the mail

    • Tenant payments were taken to the bank to get deposited.

    • Bushburg was my first receptionist job. Before Bushburg I used to work for Box Art, a Williamsburg based Art Crating Company and I was a Project Manager to Sotheby's in early 2000, and then I worked for a Williamsburg local magazine, as writer, publisher and advertising assistant. Bushburg was my first non art centered job.

    • Bushburg has had 4 different logos since I have been in the company and we have been in 3 different offices.

    • It is amazing all that has changed in 17 years!
